ICBM aspires to aid in the nurturing and growth of competently skilled and confident ordained and lay members of all Buddhist traditions.  It is the conviction of ICBM that Buddhist clergy, as well as clergy of all faiths, have an ethical obligation when sharing their understanding of religious doctrine and working for the alleviation of suffering of all beings.  Therefore, Buddhist teachers need to be correspondingly informed, skilled, and ready to meet diverse needs and suffering with a competent, confident, and compassionate ministerial presence.
